Atsena Otie

Just off the coast of Cedar Key is the island Atsena Otie. Until the hurricane of 1896 this was a populated residential area, at which time people moved over to Cedar Key. Atsena Otie is now a great place to visit by boat....it's a wildlife refuge with an old cemetery there. And just another place to enjoy the surrounding beauty of the area.

Another boat I'd love to be on :). Especially since the sea seems to be so calm (otherwise I would get sea sick... :O).

midnitebara...welcome to my island and I hope you'll visit often.
Eric....I'll see what I can do to comply with your request.
Nicola...that's what I love about taking our boat out here...very calm in the waters surrounding Cedar Key. Like you...I don't do rough waters.

Terri,
Have been to Cedar Key several times and love it! I went out to Atsena Otie before it was turned into a wild life refuge. My ancestors lived on Atsena Otie before the hurricane. Am thinking of moving to the area.
