Cedar Key Daily Photo

Relocated to a quirky little island off the west coast of Florida and I'm in my element. Well, I'm a Pisces afterall. Surrounded by water and nature makes each day a gift. Our little town of 900 permanent residents is special, so visit here for photos and I'll share it with you.

Weekend Tourists

We might be a sleepy, little, fishing village during the week but the weekends always bring the tourists. The bridge leading to Dock Street is empty Monday through Friday, but when I went downtown this morning to get our mail at the PO, vehicles were already parked on the bridge. Tourists generate money for the island, which is always good. But they're usually gone by Monday, which is also very nice....leaving our island paradise quiet once again.

We are planning a trip there at the end of July (for my b'day). Since we've never been there, we thought it might be a nice change of pace from our hurried everyday life. I will be looking at your site for "inside" information about things to do and see while we are there.

if you plan on going to dock street, beware do not drink city police will give you adui just walking. take notice that when you enter the town they are waiting , when you exit the town they are waiting. i useto love bringing my boat there but now if iam not going to stay i am scared to have abeer. no injoyment there, if you have to look over your shoulder all the time to make sure the cops arent watching you. i think they have camera's in the bar's . i would say 75% of the people that visit get dui's lots of luck.
